LITA - Love is The Answer

How can you not instantly fall in love with these baskets! Made with love by vulnerable women in Uganda...the women who support all of the village children, whether they are “their own” or not! These women are the life of this village! The song and dance when they make these baskets is a sound and sight that will stay in our hearts for ever!

Love is the Answer is the impetus behind Be One Baskets and Beefun Women’s Society. It was a trip to Uganda to meet with Catherine, the founder of LITA, to look at ways we could support her orphanage and school. When we left, we left with 1 basket and an order of 1500 more. To be delivered whenever they could be made and shipped over. What are we going to do with the baskets? Not sure yet, but what we do know is…these Women support their village children and orphans on making and selling baskets. What better way to support the “caregivers” of this village, than to buy their wares and proudly support their business.

Thus, Be One Baskets was born…cause if you have a basket…you gotta have something to go in your basket!

LITA - is a Canadian registered charity working in Africa that assists orphaned children and caregivers of orphaned children in areas of poverty relief and reduction, the advancement of education, and the development of local community initiatives that benefit orphaned children.
LITA supports projects that foster the children's survival and well being, and promote conditions leading to their empowerment and self-sufficiency, through self-directed programs and sustainable income generating activities.
